Bromley & Croydon Women’s Aid is seeking to recruit a Child Support Officer (Therapeutic) to provide a high-quality proactive therapeutic service and support to children of victim-survivors of domestic violence and abuse in Bromley.

You will be a domestic abuse specialist who is passionate about providing support to children and young people who are victims of domestic abuse, through targeted 1:1 support and group sessions in refuge along with bespoke activities for children & young people residing in BCWA’s domestic abuse refuges.

You will work with children & young people in a therapeutic manner to explore the issues of domestic abuse, trauma and any other issues they may be facing.

The overall aim will be to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality robust services that provide empowerment and recovery opportunities for children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse and violence working therapeutically by using art, drama, play and creative frameworks.

You will have significant professional experience of domestic abuse, safeguarding children, managing risk and promoting recovery, as well as an excellent working knowledge of the challenges faced by children who have experienced domestic abuse.*

The post will require home working initially, with access to hot-desking at our offices as needed. Flexible working is encouraged at BCWA, with a mix of home and location-based working across our friendly and supportive team. Job Title: Child Support Officer (Therapeutic)

Hours: 35 hours/week

Contract Type: Fixed Term until 31st March 2023

Salary: £30,000.00 pa
